You can easily get acrylic (plexi) sheet up to 1" thick, although getting
colors or specials that thick often requires buying a whole 4x8 foot sheet
from a distributor. But mirrored plexi is usually intended to be used with
the mirroring on the "back" side, which means a 3/8" thick piece of mirrored
plexi is liekly to give you a double image, from both surface of the plexi.
At that point it is probably more effective to use black opaque plexi, and
have the use of either surface, whichever is less scratched.
