"I'm curious, Sean, what you're getting out of that old "ICE" software that you can't find in more modern software." -FER

I like everything about it. It's bare bones text input/output. No frills, just the information I need. I find it handy for reverse engineering practice problems because it lists the corrections next to the computed data. The daily configuration is handy for setting up a star-finder. I like the format of the data in the output; everything pertinent is right there. I like the reassuring and official looking "U.S. Naval Observatory Nautical Almanac Office" title screen. And I just have an affinity for DOS!

There are a few downsides, I admit. As you say, I think the delta-T value is hard coded...at least I don't know how to change it. Changing the time could be made easier, instead of having to type the date each time. And selecting a good three body fix is less than trivial. (But that's where the 2102-D comes in handy.)

I've been meaning to try MICA, as I understand it is the successor to ICE and is basically the same program. I just haven't gotten around to ordering it.

As for the emulator discussion, you are absolutely right and I apologize for wandering so far off topic. I have a bad habit of doing that. So much so that in another forum I managed to derail a humorous "off-topic" thread by posting relevant material there. ...smh
