    Wow,what great ingenuity i love seeing this stuff and it only cost you a couple of bucks cool !! I built a basic sextant out of a C.D. case by following detailed instructions on www.tecepe.com.br/nav/ It works well.. All you need is a C.D. case a C.D. some Lego bits & some mirror stock and you are away.

    Today I went to the dollar store for essentials(soap and the like) and walked out with a glass candle holder (which looks like a space age hockey puck) and a small mirror. Two dollars bought all that I needed to fabricate a half mirrored fixed angle sextant. It is a perfect coffee table conversation piece/paper weight at the very least. The sun shows nicely but the design is really intended for the moon which I will be trying this evening.
