No, it doesn't seem to be the apparent height of the sun where I thought having made a mistake. My values for the height above the apparent horizon are: Happ UL = 59.4225 deg Happ LL = 58.891125 deg from this I deduct the Dip = 0.06232 deg to obtain the apparent height above the astronomical horizon, which is what my program shows (or at least should show) in the output. Still, where is the bug? Marcel P.S: According to Wikimapia the heights of the Anacapa Islands are generally above 200 ft. So the middle and the eastern one are therefore also visible.
