The attached image shows Vega passing the meridian last night at around 9:04 PDT. The DSLR camera was placed lens up on the forward deck centerline of my Ketch which is slipped bow heading exactly East. The genoa roller furling serves as the centerline reference overhead.
GPS 34 10.5 N 119 13.8 W
Pixel count from genoa furler to Vega = 730 px
50 mm lens multiplier = .37716 moa/px
Measured distance by camera 4* 35.3'
Is the Ketch listing to port or starboard ?
Camera settings f2, 2 sec., ISO 400, infinite focus.
