    this effort to produce�"funny symbols"�seems misplaced. �Given that
    they cause problems and confusion, the simple remedy
    is one we've been using here for a while:
    
    N12d 34m 30s, �W067d 01m 12s.
    
    Now that, I propose, is quite clear, without requiring any of those
    pesky�"funny symbols" that different browsers, etc, can misinterpret.
    Did anybody receive that expressed position in a mangled form, or find
