(I am getting all NavList Posts in and out trough the Web http://www.fer3.com). Now, what really puzzles me it that, although I just typed and proof read that the symbol is OK on my window," And what appeared on my display (via email), where those degree signs (º) should have been, is a hollow rectangle. I don't know whether my pasted copy will look the same to others. Indeed, it's the same rectangle symbol that appears to me in Kermit's signoff line, as follows- "Antoine M. "Kermit" Coutte" where, presumably , he has included a grave (?) accent above the e in Couette. I don't suppose that information wil be very helpful.
