    Thanks! Plath produced a number of prototypes in the 1970s and 80s which never went into production. I had not seen this one before. Interesting design choice... Dan Allen, by the way, was a very active member of NavList and a former "co-manager" through 2008 (with a few posts in 2009, too). His earliest posts date back to 1997, and he put together a number of web pages, like this one that you linked, way back then. Here's a custom index of his 20th century posts(*):

    * In this case I am defining "20th century" in the popular sense of years starting with the digits "19" running through December 31, 1999. Naturally there was some debate over this in NavList messages back then. In fact, the last post in the custom index above was part of that discussion.
