Hello, all. I haven't posted for some time now and can consider myself a lurker as well. These postings have to be the most interesting of any list to which I have subscribed.. We have a 27' Tanzer sailboat named s/v Mir, and her home is at the Port Dover Yacht Club, on the north shore of Lake Erie, in Ontario, Canada. Right now she is sitting in a cradle on land due to a "hard water" problem. Look for pictures on my site www.sailorbill.com My wife and I can hardly wait for the day we can sail for a distance offshore. Maybe in 5 or 6 more years. Meanwhile, we sail on and across Lake Erie whenever we can. My sextant experience is limited to Canadian Power and Sail courses JN and N. Presently, I proctor a class of the new revised CPS course "CN", which is replacing the other two. So, right now it is a hobby for me. Hopefully someday I will be able to really use it. To what extent are you boat owners, sailors, voyagers, etc. who pursue navigation to actually operate their boats? It seems that there may be some who are interested in the subject, but don't actually go to sea. Just curious? Bill Sellar
