Venus is now in a good position for daytime sextant observations. It is very bright in the morning sky and faintly visible at meridional passage using a scoped sextant. An accurate altitude and azimuth preset will be necessary to get Venus into the field of view. The split horizon mirror and 7 power scope presented the best visual with the 4 power scope a close second. The whole horizon mirror did not show well and gets thumbs down for this task. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ NavList message boards: www.fer3.com/arc Or post by email to: NavList@fer3.com To , email NavList-@fer3.com -~----------~----~----~----~------~----~------~--~---
