Hi, Niall, J Sewills were a famous Liverpool marine instrument supplier. They generally got their sextants from specialist Makers such as Husun. This one looks like a good 1939 example. If all working ok and mirrors and lenses clean, very much a collector's item. I've seen similar go for around £500 on ebay. If it works well, I'd keep this little gem and learn celnav here!
