Geoffrey,
I do remember that show Lets Make a Deal. The contestants were usually in costume and if lucky would chose the door with an around the world cruise so that celestial navigation could be practiced ;-)
To be able to improve the odds of winning the biggest prize there must be complete knowledge of previous shows from the same producer. If the producer isn't known then all the shows would have to be analyzed as a data pool. My guess would be that some producers had a tendency to put the big winners behind certain doors dependent on the location of the losing door. Knowledge of the losing door if shown at first could help the contestant win the bigger of the two remaining prizes. Not sure how this applies to CN though.
