To the group: The following may be used to construct a practical plotting area most anywhere ....... 1. Construct horizontal (mid-latitude) and intersecting vertical at mid-length (central meridian). 2. Construct at the above intersection an angle in degrees equal to the mid-latitude and extend hypotenuse thus established to 60/16" = 3-12/16". 3. Distance between parallels of latitude may now be constructed as a constant 3-12/16". 4. Distance between meridians may now be constructed as equal to the horizontal distance from initial vertical to the extremity of the constructed hypotenuse. 5. You now have a practical plotting sheet on a scale of 1/16" to the minute of latitude and may use your 1/16" ruler as a scale for plotting. This method can be employed in your notebook, logbook, or whatever. Regards to all. Henry
