    To the group:

The following may be used to construct a practical plotting area most
    anywhere .......

    1. Construct horizontal (mid-latitude) and intersecting vertical at
    mid-length (central meridian).

    2. Construct at the above intersection an angle in degrees equal to the
mid-latitude and extend hypotenuse thus established to 60/16" = 3-12/16".

    3. Distance between parallels of latitude may now be constructed as a
    constant 3-12/16".

    4. Distance between meridians may now be constructed as equal to the
horizontal distance from initial vertical to the extremity of the
    constructed hypotenuse.

    5. You now have a practical plotting sheet on a scale of 1/16" to the
minute of latitude and may use your 1/16" ruler as a scale for plotting.

This method can be employed in your notebook, logbook, or whatever.

    Regards to all.

                                                    Henry
