Then you are in a regrettable bad position at that altitude , don?t do it again and immediately : Fixed Square search . I by the way did not say that mr. N reduced from an instant sunset observation : article says in title : "Frederick Noonan Precompted a Running Sunset Fix . ." , although , to offend you , if he saw a more or less clear sky red sun & horizon , you never know . I agree that having Nukumanu in sight , 27 miles or less , he could safely communicate his precomputed position fix , but not without having the precomputed coordinates at hand .
