Nicolas wrote- about a book enquiry- "Information on the first edition can be found in: Adams, T.R. and Waters, D.W., /English Maritime Books Printed Before 1801, Relating to Ships, Their Construction and Their Operation at Sea, Including Articles in the Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society and the Transactions of the American Philosophical Society/, (Greenwich, 1995)" ================ By jove, Nicolas, that's a rare title! Where did you find that? I had never even heard of it, though I revere David Waters for his "Art of navigation ...". The one used copy I can find for sale is by a US bookseller at about $400!. But they have it in the Bodleian, so I can look it out, next visit.
