Six years ago, a few of you may remember, I started a discussion about a ship that had rolled over on its side in the North Pacific. It was the 650-foot car carrier "Cougar Ace". Here's a link to that old message (with a photo of it on its side):

Yesterday, early evening, I was standing on the rocks at the southern end of Jamestown Island in Rhode Island enjoying the stunning views and the peaceful setting. Suddenly a huge vessel appeared in the channel between Jamestown and Newport heading out to sea. It was the "Cougar Ace". It was a bit like seeing a ghost. Seriously, what are the odds?
