    Turns out Calc won't download to my Mac. Something to do with Safari browser.
    
    I have a Toshiba running Windows XP; use it mainly for online music
    programs. I'm obviously going to need help, so George's recommendation
    for a s/s with discursive manual I think a good one.
    
    Suggestions, anyone?
