    Marty,

Please tell us about your sextant. How have you adjusted your index and horizon mirrors? How have you determined index error? What sight reduction method have you used ? I will assume that index error was corrected first then dividing by 2 to get Hs and finally subtracting the refraction correction to get Ho. Intercepts of 1' or better are good artificial horizon results if using a properly adjusted metal sextant .
