There is indeed a nice tight formation right now. From Earth, the Sun,
Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Saturn are all within a few
degrees azimuth of each other. Here's the configuration as of 5-May-2000
    at 00:00 GMT:

    Object Declin Azimuth
    Sun 16d 17' 295d 55'
    Moon 14d 58' 286d 39'
    Mercury 14d 07' 297d 39'
    Venus 11d 59' 299d 43'
    Mars 20d 44' 288d 36'
    Jupiter 16d 07' 294d 03'
    Saturn 15d 44' 291d 49'
