    No "freebies" from the British Government uh?
    It is amazing some of the stuff you can get free from
    the U.S. Government. I guess no one gets a free ride in
    Britain except the Royals and that now even they are having
    a rough time with the tax man.
    
    My U.S. version of the Nautical Almanac says

    Now for the kicker.
    
    The following United States government work is excepted from the above
    notice, and no copyright is claimed for it in the United States:
    cover, title page and reverse, Preface, pages 6 and 7, pages 286 to 315.
    
    So it looks like the U.S. version of the NA is not copyrighted.
    Not being a lawyer I am not sure how this works out.
    
    I would bet that the Almanac is cheaper in the U.S. then in the
    U.K. especially if you got one of the "commercial editions" and
    not the one from the USGPO.
    
    I wonder if Brits could order the almanac from the U.S.via the
    internet and get it for less.
