Congradulations on that big ship. Please check the gyro usings the franklin Plot. let me know what you find. You may be surprized at what you find.
I have been considering another problem with compass steering error and a large ships waist of time and fuel on a long trip. I know that the Intrepid traveled from Yards at Philly to Norfolk to RI with a unknown 1.5 degree compass error. This would be like having a current on the port bow I think but don't know so rudder and distance must be used to follow a DR. Any Idea?
