Re: Compass card with more than 360 degrees

Greg, In my private pilot days I only flew with a regular compass, but in a
more ancient youth I often sailed with ol timers who only steered their
vessel by points....ie ENE BY N or NNE by a quarter N and so on. I never
heard of the numbers until I sort of grew up some and steered using a gyro
repeater. I guess it was when I actually left home and got to work on steel
    vessels at about age 15.
