Orjan,
I'm going to guess that you are near Skelleftea (Sweden) and mining for gold ;-) I hear this place has a great hockey team.
Was the azimuth 295* ?

Little difficult using amplitude for compass check in polar regions or rathert from 65° and up. it is more getting a regular azimuth when sun is low enough and saying " good enough".
Here sun sets (or not) at a slow pace, it is now 19:55 (CET daylight saving time) and sun is still well above horizon (my sextant observation few min ago gave HA 7°11').
