Comet Machholz will be passing two degrees from the Pleiades around Jan. 8
0h UT. As of today it is headed north and roughly makes an equilateral triangle
with the Pleiades and Aldebaran. The comet is around magnitude 3.5, easy with
binoculars from almost any site and visible naked-eye from a dark site. Details
and a couple or articles at skyandtelescope.com.
