Frank brought this to my attention and I
thank him. I'll be looking for this one starting Friday night. Something
interesting to do.
On another note: are the 2005 archives for
irbs mailing lists visable to everyone else? My last archive I am able to view
is from Frank Reed on 12-31-04. Just want to know if it's my set-up or
everyone's.
Comet Machholz will be passing two degrees from the Pleiades around Jan. 8 0h UT. As of today it is headed north and roughly makes an equilateral triangle with the Pleiades and Aldebaran. The comet is around magnitude 3.5, easy with binoculars from almost any site and visible naked-eye from a dark site. Details and a couple or articles at skyandtelescope.com.
