    I believe ARPA has made Maneuvering Boards and grease pencils obsolete in most of
    the Navy and merchant marine. However, for vessels with inexpensive
    non-ARPA-equipped radars (recreational, fishing, sail training, etc.), a maneuvering
    board and the skills Chuck described remain essential.
