George, among the pictures that Jan Kalivoda took in the Museé de la Marine (Paris)is a photograph which - according to the accompanying text - shows a Mendoza circle built by Troughton. This may be the instrument which is depicted in Randier, Nautische Instrumente (there must be an English translation), p. 127. Unfortunately Randier does not say to which institution the instrument belongs. Have a look at the pictures attached.
