    Dear George:
Thanks for your consideration...no harm done...keep up good work. Your ever
presence keeps some of us on the alert.
I've posted another note/reply to GL , and look forward to your words of
wisdom , mind you with some trepidation...hi
    Kindest personal regards
    Irvin F Haworth

P.S. As you probably know Capt Thomas Sumner(LOP man) spent the last 20 odd
years of his life in the insane asylum , so don't let these matters vex you
too much...(especially my last post to gl/Bill Sellar

I have a big apology to make to Irv Howarth, which I need to explain-

Bill Sellar asked a simple question.

"As a beginning celestial navigator, I am wondering how much time and watch
accuracy is actually required for practical navigation. Can we predict how
many miles off one would be for every second of time error?"

And I commented on the heavy weather the list was making of such a simple
    matter, adding-

"Worst was Irv Howarth's contribution, in which he made a gross error, by a
factor of 15! Well, anyone can make a mistake, but after it's been pointed
out to him, he appears to be still defending it."

That was quite unjustified, as the factor of 15 error had been made, not by
Irv Howarth, but by Rick Emerson, in posting 6933.

Irv must be wondering what he had done wrong, and I can only say "sorry" to
him for making such a mistake.

    George.
