My guess is that it would be a course-text for the Board-of-Trade exams. Cotter was a lecturer at the Maritime College in Cardiff. Cotter also re-edited Burton's slim "The art of Astronomical Navigation", in 1975, after Burton had died, but it's not a work I value greatly. ================================================================ contact George Huxtable by email at george@huxtable.u-net.com, by phone at 01865 820222 (from outside UK, +44 1865 820222), or by mail at 1 Sandy Lane, Southmoor, Abingdon, Oxon OX13 5HX, UK. ================================================================
