I had requested help to deal with this problem. If I pasted in to a message being put together in Outlook Express a character from "Character Map" (or, indeed, from other sources), then it often caused the font size to be changed, and I could see no way to reset it back. GregR responded- On my end I don't have a problem with the font size changing (though OE sometimes insists on changing everything imported from Character Map to Arial font for some reason). Either way, it's easy enough to fix - right above the window where you type the e-mail, there should be a menu bar with font selections, size, options for bold/Italic/underline, color, etc. You can highlight the imported character (click the mouse and drag the cursor over it) and then select whatever characteristics (font/size/etc.) you want for it. That should also correct the problem with subsequent typing being formatted like the imported character. Although for me it's easier to just ignore those formatting "glitches" when they occur until I'm done with the e-mail, then highlight the entire text and apply the format changes once (saves having to do it each time if you want to make multiple changes). =============================== That works, if I use HTML coding for my email messages. But if instead I choose plain text (as I have always preferred) then there's no format choice, and no format bar on the screen, and no way that I can see to return font size to its original preset value. Am I missing something here? No doubt, all that changes is the displayed text on my screen, and the transmitted message goes out just the same, in plain text. So it isn't a big deal, for me, and is nothing to do with navigation (sorry...), but it would be handy for me to sort this out, if some guru can help. Do I have to change to HTML encoding?
