Thank you for the great info on your adventures in the desert.
Next year ther will be a total solar eclipse across the entire US (lower 48 ). The center path cuts only 100 meters from my home in Nebraska. Open land, clear blue skys, little cloud cover - should be great. Most of the small towns around here are starting to make plans for the hopeful influx of people. If anyone comes out to Nebraska it would be nice to meet and talk cel-nav.
