I’ve been following this topic and thinking about it. I know the
goals at Mystic Seaport in general are to reach out to new people/new audience
and use the planetarium and its facilities more effectively. You have taught
your classes for years. What has been your most successful audience? People
interested in history, sailors, retired members of the community? What has been
successful elsewhere? Failures elsewhere?
Somehow it has got to be fun interesting and not too complicated.
Still thinking and best regards.

Exotic topics to think about : Artificial horizons, dip short, backsights,
daytime Venus, ultra high altitude GP circle of position, and sunrise/sunset LOP
without a sextant. Something really far out would be longitude by jovian moons
which could be an extra subject for the land navigation class.
