In reference to the Sailing calculations:
Mercator is a type of projection of a map or nautical chart, in it a rhumb line is a straight line. It seems that you use WGS72 or WGS84

Accurate RL seems that uses an ellipsoidal model of the Earth between the RL and the geodesic, what model use it?
I have tested it in WXP SP2, W7 and Wserver2008 -> OK
