Stan, I have tried a few sights using v.4.0.0 on my HP Netbook (c. 2010) running XP Home Edition, and here are a couple of thoughts: I pushed the button to save two sights for a running fix, but can't find the "Establish Fix" button. One was a noon sight. Would that make a difference? Where are the sights saved? Is it possible to see the whole page again? If Sun sights are going to be the bulk of training, I'd put the Sun on the top of the "Body" drop-down list. Horizon sights are a favorite with me, so just for fun I took the one on page 122 of Commonsense Celestial Navigation and plugged it in. Horizon sights' Hc and Ho have to be compared so as to get their absolute difference, i.e., algebraically. But the program does it arithmetically. I know horizon sights are not favored by many navigators, but after a night on deck my spirits sure rose at the sight of our star coming up. For me they always checked out just fine against the DR. Another lift to a navigator's heart in the dawn. :-) Hewitt Sent from my iPad
