Celestial Navigation and Prisoners of War

We sometimes try to invent scenarios where celestial navigation might have some value in a modern context. I think this quaifies... Attached below is an article about some prisoners during the Second World War performing some basic celestial navigation, without sextants, in secret. I loved the bit where they determined the approximate time of local noon by observing the navigators all turning their sextants to read them mid-day after taking, what they assumed to be, the noon sight. It's a clever deduction based on the social behavior of navigators!
