Wasn’t it the Enigma code machine on the captured U-505 submarine which helped the Allies in deciphering the code?

In the Das Boot clip it also shows working the Enigma code machine and a guy in the background holding a standard sliderule. It would have been better if he were holding a HR-1 version of the Bygrave sliderule.

Dis the kreigsmarine use the Enigma? I thought that the navy codes were completly different.
