As sailing buddy quipped about Lake Michigan, "You're never more than 45
    miles from a sandwich."

There is another cross-lake (car) ferry, the Lake Express. It runs
between Milwaukee WI and Muskegon MI. The S.S. Badger (Manitowoc
WI/Ludington MI) takes 4 hours to cross, the Lake Express 2.5 hours.
