Nav-l excludes radionavigation techniques such as GPS and Loran, so the emphasis is on celestial nav., but seems to be happy to accept on-board electronics such as calculators and computers. It's a broad church, dealing with sea, air, and land navigation- even that of a camel-train! Nav-l is going through a subdued phase at present. Perhaps everyone is on holiday. The activity comes in flurries depending on the interest in a topic. By the way, there's another list, nothing to do with Nav-l, specifically dealing with sextants. Quite a few belong to both. It's less technical than Nav-l and less argumentative, dealing more with questions of authenticity and value, for collectors of sextants. Depends on one's interests. To each his own.
