    Hi Mike:
    When an eBay sale is concluded the price is determined by the
    SECOND highest bidder NOT the highest bidder as in a conventional
    live auction.  eBay could have made it so the highest bidder
    determines the price, but they have done it this way to make the
    auctions more fair in my opinion.
    I've seen items go on eBay for more than they sell new for.
    As someone said "Caveat emptor."
