I have an interest in this matter, having written similar programs for position prediction and sight reduction on what may now be a "lost generation" of Casio programmable calculators, the FX 730P and FX 759P. I don't know whether these fit into a series with the CFX-9850G that Don refers to, and would like to learn a bit more about that machine, especially if it is in current production. Anyway, I have implemented a similar set of routines to those referred to by Bill Murdoch (with the fundamentals drawn from Meeus) and am rather familiar with some of the curiosities of the Bastard Basic that Casio then used, if that is any help at all to Don. The main purpose of this note is a request that discussion on such matters is kept on-list, so that interested list-members such as me can keep informed.
