Oh Yes, Brad, they did use a different (and definitely less accurate Hadley's) instrument to measure the heights. Our dear George Huxtable had pointed this out as I can recall.
However, an unexplained error of three quarters of a degree still seems a bit high for an accurate determination of Cleared Distance, non ? Maybe by chance they did exactly "fall" into the very area Frank has pioneered and discovered as being quite/almost insensitive to Heights accuracy. Would you mind elaborating a little more on this specific case, Frank ? Thanks in advance,
