    Harri,

Haven't had the chance to try the Casio fx-115MS for comparison. The TI-36X Pro does retain a vast amount of history which displays on a 4 line screen even after turning off. The screen is well defined and can be seen from any angle in sun light. Uses a CR2032 battery for memory and solar for functions.

    Hi,

I have a Casio fx-115MS which is quite nice for celestial calculations:

    Pros:

+ You can enter formulas and use memories (similar to the TI).

+ 9 memory places, which is enough for lunars

+ Can enter angles as ddd mmm.mmmm or as ddd mmmm ssss.sss

    + Solar powered

+ Quite inexpensive (about 25 euros in Finland, probably even less expensive in other parts of the world.)

    Cons:

    - Formulas are lost when turned off! (but on the other hand that helps in forcing one to memorize them ;-)

    - Can display results only as ddd.dddd or ddd mmm sss.sss (but not as ddd mmm.mmmm). But I haven't found that to be too much of a problem when one is aware of it: write down intermediate results as ddd mmm ssss, and convert to dd mm.mmm for the final values.

    Cheers,
    Harri
