It’s possibly because these devices are latest technology and solar powered that they keep bouncing back. There’s not going to be much emf to produce a chip lethal current, especialy under water, and the production methods probably don’t need oodles of salt based flux that might be left lying around inside and subsequently spread around. Your experiments are the oposite to the little salt water activated lights we used to have on our life jackets. They went mad in salt water but were almost useless in pure water. Dave
