Dear Tony Oz,
Thank you for answering my question so concisely. Fortunately for me, your brief explanation lost nothing in precission.
That was exactly what I wanted to know. And thank you for not refering me to the Nautical Almanac's Meridian Passage block at the righthand bottom of the odd numbered daily pages where the time of the meridaian passage in Greenwich is identified (to the minute rather than the second) and can be used to obtain the information which you have helped me calculate. I still need to "think hard" when I reconstruct your proportional thought processes; the nice part is that it makes sense to me. Thank you.
