Sorry to be so late in responding, I have been on the road traveling. I have not seen the CPU50A/P calculator/star-finder. The CP-300/U was a nicely crafted device and, in my opinion, much better than the 2102-D but it never seemed to have reached popular use or mass production (one could imply the other). I suspect the higher cost of manufacturing was the reason the cheaper 2102-D became the 'standard'.
Post some images of the CPU50A/P if you can.
