For those on the List attempting this CN Cache puzzle from Geoching.com I will recommend working to five decimal points then use graph paper to plot with each square equal to one second of arc (100 ft.). It does seem to work out to a perfect pin wheel. Use flash Earth or Google Earth to get a top view then try the ground view camera to drive around the area. I find this 360 degree ground camera quite amazing.

The puzzle maker has mixed up degrees minutes seconds, degrees minutes tenths, and degrees tenths so be careful here. Be sure to carefully interpolate the given Aries information to the exact second.

This seemed very different than standard sight reduction but still interesting and fun to work out.

Here is a link to an interesting celestial navigation puzzle where the position is given using three stars to mark the pin wheel. A trig calculator is required. Tables or programs may not produce the necessary precision for discovery. Sextant optional ;-) I'm surprised only 17 have found the prize. Obviously NavList wasn't consulted :))
