Hi Alex, I have a MK5, AN5851-1 bubble sextant and can attest to it's performance. It is quite large, designed to be used from an overhead mount but if mounted on a sturdy table can yield good results. The bubble is adjustable over an extreme size range and has several filters 4 sun shots. I also have the manual and would be more than willing to email it's contants 2 u. I also have a Fairchild A-10 bubble sextant, much smaller and lighter but bubble does not have the size range as above model and filters not as varied. It still can yield good performance. Hope this helps. Any further questions do not hesitate 2 call and/or email me at 626-833-1521 and m_burkes@msn.com.
