I think a bubble sextant is harder to "shoot" than a rifle. Centering
the eye behind a rifle's rear aperture sight is reflexive. If the
front sight is off, even a novice intuitively moves the right
direction. But the none of the motions to attain correct sight picture
in a bubble sextant is intuitive. These instruments challenge one's
eye-hand coordination, and it is quite an accomplishment to get 1
    minute accuracy on land, unsupported.
