Re: Bris sextant land use with artificial horizon

    Edu,

The attached image taken this afternoon confirms that the calibration has held up after two years of bouncing in the camera bag.  This particular C.Bris was built using quick setting clear two part epox which has been the best glue so far for microscope slide glass and holds up over time and temperature changes.  The camera clock is set to UTC and time stamps the image for sight reduction from a known GPS position. The Davis artificial horizon sun reflection is seen as yellow and the C.Bris sun #8 reflection is grey just to the side with the #7 reflection next just above.

    UTC 21:22:16  10 Jan 2023. Ahs 30° 3' /2 =  Hs 15° 1.5'  - 3.5' refraction = Ho 14° 58'  Hc = 14° 59.2'  intercept 1.2' away  GPS Lat 27° 41.4'N  Lon 80° 23.7'W
