I wouldn't be surprised if the Bris sextant was not related to the owner of the tiny lttle 15 foot sailboat that crossed the Atlantic in 1989 with Sven Lundin and his wife Olga. Those who have read Cruising World magazine back then may remember the series of articles that were published covering the adventures of vessel and crew.
Check this link. Its in a Scandiavian lanuage, but you can get the idea. http://www.yrvind.com/ Could the illustration be showing the device your discussing?
I read somehwere that the boat Bris is on exhibit somewhere on the East Coast.
